Personal Background

My name is Aisyah binti Mohd Khair. I am the eldest in my family.

My father works as a lorry driver and my mother is a full-time housewife. On January 2016,we moved to Lenggeng,Negeri Sembilan as we need to take care of my grandmother. If you know Bukit Broga, then you may know where Lenggeng is. I used to live in Gombak,Selangor for more 10 years.

I have two younger brothers. They are both cricket players and they make good money as well. One is studying at Bukit Jalil Sports School and the other one is studying at SMK Segambut Jaya. I have two cats. As I am the only girl among my siblings,I spend most of time with my cats.

My former primary school was Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Seri Gombak. Then I went to SMK Hillcrest,Gombak. After getting a good result in Pendidikan Menengah Rendah (PMR), I got accepted to Sekolah Menengah Sains Perempuan Seremban(SGS). It was a school with old buildings of Kolej Tunku Kurshiah. SGS is not just an ordinary school. It is a school with great teachers and students that you will not find anywhere. Although we had no seniors to guide us because most of us had never been to boarding school, but we managed to survive. Our Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) results was ranked in top 10 in Malaysia. That was the biggest and proud achievement that would be remembered by everyone. After finished SPM with flying colours,I decided to further my studies at Selangor Matriculation College. (KMS)

I am very passionate when I do something that I love. During my school days at SGS,I often got to be the master of the ceremony.  Being a MC of an event was like the happiest moment in my life. “I think that I want to be a news anchor.” That was my ambition. I planned to further my studies in Mass Communication because I wanted to achieve my dream. I asked opinions to my friends. Some of them encouraged me while some didn’t.

“You just want popularity, right?” “What’s the use of learning science?” “You need to find a better course.” My aunties and uncles were really against me. I got lectured for that. I still remembered one my friend said this,”Your dream is something like you can achieve it anytime without any hard work. Because it is something that you find fun and love doing it. So, just finish everything first and fulfill your dream when everything is settled.”

So,after countless of thinking, I decided to further my degreere in Pure Chemistry. I want to be a teacher at SGS. SGS is really a turning point in my life. I feel so in debt and I believe that being a teacher at SGS is one of the ways to show how much I appreciate and love the school.

My role model is my Chemistry teacher when I was in Form 4. Her name is Puan Norini binti Jaafar. Before she came to SGS,she was a teacher at Sekolah Alam Shah,Putrajaya. I really respect her. At the age of 57,she managed to get her PhD. She looks younger than her age. She never fails to look elegant in whatever outfit she wears despite her age. She just loves teaching so much and she even declined to be a headmistress.

I have so many things that I want to achieve in my life, but now I just want to make my family happy by getting an excellent results in KMS. I know they are always putting a high expectation on me.

I need to overcome my low self-esteem as I live in the world full of discrimination People judge you by your looks, body sizes and intelligence. So I believe that I must work hard and never give up. Life is not always a bed of roses.  There were times that I felt stressed but I knew how to handle it. As you grow older, you become matured. Thinking of how much money my parents had spent for me,I really need to be thankful because there are many people out there do not get a chance to study.
